Cloud Infrastructure & Automation Manager

Following two years of succesfully implementing MS Azure services and automation across the business, I progressed into this role to further develop the company's cloud and automation strategy.

My main focus currently is improving the IT dept's utilisation of these areas to enable further innovation and growth, leveraging automation to improve business processes, and ensuring that future IT & Development projects can be delivered effectively within the Azure Cloud.

Cloud Infrastructure Analyst

Working with the latest cloud services and technologies, this role involved designing and building Azure infrastructure to facilitate innovation and improve system reliability, as well as introducing PowerShell driven automation to improve efficiency across the business.

This role also involved deploying and hosting websites for well-known insurance brands, leveraging DevOps concepts and tools such as Terraform & Azure DevOps CI/CD to ensure that apps can be deployed quickly and consistently across our Azure environments.

3rd Line Support

This role focused on specialist technical support across a wide variety of insurance applications and databases, with my main focus being on providing 3rd line application and server support for internal employees and insurance partners.

My average workday involved monitoring insurance systems, working with MSSQL & PostgreSQL databases, handling escalated support tickets, and implementing new solutions and automation to prevent repetitive tasks.

Working as a technical support analyst I provided general IT support and guidance to staff across the trust, with my main focus being exceptional customer support and high levels of staff satisfaction.

My usual day to day responsibilities included logging and resolving support tickets via phone or email, improving our internal web tools and scripts, creating detailed KPI reports for other departments, providing essential IT training to new staff, and documenting technical solutions for future reference.
